Why Integrative Care
At Joy In Health, we see meaningful change when psychiatric care is both clinically grounded and deeply relational. We provide integrative psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatment that recognizes each person as a whole individual shaped by biological, psychological, and relational experiences.
Our care model integrates psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and interventional treatments when appropriate, within a collaborative and continuously evolving treatment process. The therapeutic relationship is central to our work and provides the foundation for insight, stability, and growth.
We meet each person where they are and work together to support lasting psychological and emotional change.
The values we base our practice on
Whole person care
We recognize that mental health is inseparable from physical well-being, emotional safety, and spiritual connection. That’s why we integrate therapeutic, psychiatric, nutritional, and somatic supports to help clients feel better and live more aligned, grounded lives. Whether someone is navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, or existential questions, our goal is to support their healing on every level.
Collaborative team model
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation—and neither do we. Our team works collaboratively behind the scenes to provide wraparound care.
Therapists, our psychiatrist, and our health coach communicate and coordinate (with consent) to ensure the patient is supported from every angle.
This team-based model allows us to create care plans that are integrated and responsive—not fragmented or piecemeal.
Clients benefit from a sense of consistency and attunement across all parts of their treatment.
Relational, not transactional
We know that trust is the foundation of healing. That’s why we prioritize building genuine, respectful, and warm relationships with our clients. We take time to get to know each person—not just their symptoms, but their stories, strengths, and values. We view each therapeutic relationship as a partnership, rooted in safety, consent, and mutual engagement.
Trauma informed
There is no one-size-fits-all path to healing. Every patient who comes through our doors receives care that is tailored to their needs, preferences, identity, and life context. Our trauma-informed approach means:
We move at the client’s pace
We prioritize choice, empowerment, and emotional safety
We honor the wisdom of the nervous system and gently support its regulation
Our Client Experience
A welcoming environment
We’ve intentionally created a physical space that feels warm, calm, and safe—
where clients can exhale and be fully present. From cozy blankets and soft lighting to herbal teas and comfort items, every detail is curated to support relaxation and openness. Clients are encouraged to bring meaningful personal items to help them feel grounded during sessions, and our team is always attuned to their emotional and physical needs before, during, and after each experience.
Personalized resources and guides
Healing doesn’t stop when the session ends—
which is why we provide patients with thoughtfully designed resources to support integration and ongoing well-being. Our integrative health coach offers personalized wellness protocols, including tips for nutrition, sleep, hydration, movement, and nervous system support. Clients may also receive custom meditations, yoga recommendations, or breathwork tools based on where they are in their process. These tools help bridge the insights gained in session with sustainable changes in everyday life.
Our Approach to
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
At Joy In Health, we provide a calm, supportive, and relationship-centered environment where individuals are met with care, attention, and continuity from the first consultation through ongoing treatment.
Comprehensive, Relationship-Centered Care
We provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy within a comprehensive model of psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care. Our approach is highly personalized, collaborative, and grounded in ongoing therapeutic relationships before, during, and after treatment.
Collaborative & Flexible Treatment
We recognize the importance of continuity in mental health care and are committed to collaborating with your existing clinicians whenever helpful. Our team works closely together and can coordinate with therapists, psychiatrists, and other providers to support a cohesive treatment experience.
A Thoughtful Evaluation Process
Treatment begins with a thorough psychiatric and psychological assessment focused on understanding your history, strengths, challenges, relationships, and goals. Early sessions are designed to establish trust, clarify intentions, and create a strong therapeutic foundation for the work ahead.
Preparation, Ketamine Sessions & Integration
Our model includes preparatory psychotherapy sessions, ketamine-assisted sessions, and structured integration work. Throughout the process, we support psychological insight, emotional processing, and meaningful behavioral change within a safe and supportive clinical environment.
We have developed a collaborative, team-based approach to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy that allows for continuity of care and multiple clinical perspectives when appropriate.
Integrative Mental Health Care
Our work combines evidence-based psychiatric treatment with psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based practices, nutritional and lifestyle support, and other integrative approaches tailored to each individual’s needs.
Ongoing Support & Community
Healing often continues beyond the treatment sessions themselves. We provide ongoing therapeutic support, guidance around implementation of changes in daily life, and opportunities for community connection through group offerings when appropriate.
A Longitudinal Approach to Care
We view ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as part of a broader therapeutic process rather than a stand-alone intervention. Our goal is to provide attentive, relationship-centered care that supports lasting psychological growth over time.
